Under the supervision of HRIC lawyers, interns work on projects that require a combination of legal research and analysis. Legal interns produce varied products, such as memos, case submissions, and press releases for a wide-range of audiences.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a JD or LLM program
Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of international human rights and international law
Familiarity with/interest in human rights issues in China. Knowledge of Chinese legal system (preferred)
Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
Proficiency or fluency in Mandarin Chinese (highly preferred)
Extremely organized, self-motivated, and reliable
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Computer skills: fluency in Microsoft Office suite, comfort with both PCs and Macs, and regular use of social media. Website design and desktop publishing a plus
