As a Tech Program Intern III, you will have the opportunity to explore what's next in IT, software engineering, cybersecurity, QA, data science, UX/UI and more. We are eager to attract the best, so we offer competitive compensation. This 10 to 12-week internship program will take place in Charlotte, NC during the summer of 2022.
What you'll do on a typical day:
Participate in the company's development process to analyze client requirements, determine fit and customizations, develop proposals and gather supporting data for cost estimates
Support the project manager for system implementations, upgrades and continued support, including documenting implementation plans, configuring systems and training users
Develop detailed functional specifications for modifications, defect corrections, enhancements and user documentation
Perform process and data modeling
Work with end users to perform user acceptance testing on system changes before they are released
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in a STEM-based field (ie. Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Applied Math, Statistics, etc.)
2 years of relevant coursework
It'd be great if you also have:
Class status as a junior (3rd year) or greater
2 or more years of relevant software development coursework
Solid technical competency in coding and testing; good object-oriented programming language skills
Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
Ability to be open-minded and receptive to feedback in an intellectually-rigorous environment
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems
Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask
Great verbal and written communication skills
