Job Description:
The LCSA Marketing Intern will assist LCSA with marketing initiatives for departmental operations and programming. This position will be available to provide event support for LCSA programs. In addition, this position will develop and implement marketing strategies that will inform the Wooster community about its events in order to increase participation within the organization and attendance at events. This position spans August through May.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in the development of marketing and promotional materials for LCSA such as, but not limited to: flyers, posters, brochures, social media posts and promotional materials for departmental programs and events.
Collaborate with and support other Marketing Interns with creation of promotional materials for events and programs.
Communicate with students, staff, and outside constituents via in-person meetings, phone, or by email.
Maintain a maximum of 10 hours per week.
Responsible in the development and distribution of marketing materials for LCSA and its events which include, but are not limited to: flyer, posters, tabling material, office boards, social media, etc.
Responsible for managing LCSA social media accounts. Includes weekly posts on our own account and re-sharing events from other student organizations.
Work with the Office of Communications to ensure adherence to the University's branding guidelines
Responsible for helping coordinate and promote Scot Spirit Day in the Fall and Spring. As well as day of operations for set up/clean up and assisting during the duration of the event.
Create and compile information for the weekly What's Happening emails. This includes producing an image and text for campus wide email.
Produce the Monday and Thursday editions of the POT.
Responsible for maintaining constant communication supervisor and attending weekly one-on-one meetings.
Assist and support student organizations in their marketing. This could include putting on workshops or sessions for student leaders as well as one-on-one meetings or open office hours.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be a current College of Wooster student.
Must be able to serve for the entire academic year
Have the ability to communicate effectively
Have experience in Microsoft Office and related publication programs
Creativity and use of marketing software such as canva or photoshop/gimp
Have strong organization skills
Exhibit leadership and confidence in decisions and posse a high level of customer service.
Must also have the ability to work with students, faculty, administrators, and staff effectively
Manage time and multi-task
Be a self-starter
Energetic and meet deadlines
Collaborate with executive members, student workers, and student organization leaders
